Kim Spir and Ellen Schmidt-Devlin started this project in June 2010 with the goal of telling the story of Oregon women’s track and field. The project involves collecting pictures, news articles, work outs, etc, as well as conducting audio and video interviews of past and present athletes, coaches, and administrators, and other interested individuals. The target is June 2012 to debut both the documentary and book.
The project expanded to include this website, trackwomenoforegon.com. This site is intended to build a broader awareness of women’s track and field while giving past and present athletes the opportunity to tell their stories.
Share your story by registering in ‘My Story’. Send your comments so we can continue to improve this project. And, use this site to keep updated on the progress of the documentary and book.
